It is the origin story of Anakin Skywalker and the rest of the Star Wars franchise. The Phantom Menace is part of the Star Wars prequels. Still, because of the population in the South that watched the show and other factors, elements of racism and racial inequality still appear in the series. In celebration of May the Fourth, our family watched The Phantom Menace (1999).
